Calvin Hopkins' Obituary
Calvin Merritt Hopkins of Preston, MD passed away on Wed. Dec. 5, 2012 at Genesis HealthCare-The Pines in Easton. He was 80.
He was born Oct. 10, 1932 in Preston, the son of the late Charlie and Lulu Perry Hopkins.
He attended Preston High School and served in the United States Army. He worked as a waterman, fishing the Choptank River and crabbing in the Miles River. He would hang nets for other watermen. Calvin was a member of the Watermen’s Association.
He is survived by his wife Virginia May Kemp “Deedle” Hopkins who had shared 49 years together, a daughter Sandy Errickson (Alan Conaway) of Easton, a granddaughter Heather Errickson of Preston, 3 great-grandchildren
Cameron, Zoey and Kayla, a brother Lloyd Hopkins of Preston, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a great-grandchild Taylor, five brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Tues. Dec. 11, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home with Rev. Derwin Lowe and Rev. Glenn Staehli officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Beulah. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.
