Carroll R. Miller's Obituary
Carroll R. Miller Tilghman, Carroll R. Miller of Tilghman, died at the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center, Easton on Monday, September 22, 2014. He was 78. Born on Tilghman Island on July 30, 1936 he was the son of the late Lonnie D. and Alberta Lednum Miller. Having attended Talbot Co. public schools in Tilghman and graduating from St. Michaels High School in the 1950s, he worked at Fluharty’s Boat Yard in Tilghman. He then enlisted in the Navy. After his release from active duty he returned to Tilghman where he began a career working on the water with his brother, “Bunkyâ€. Later he took a position with the maintaince dept. at the Calhoon M.E.B.A. Engineering School, Easton where he worked until retiring in 2008. Mr. Miller attended Tilghman U.M.C. He is survived by two sons; Andy Miller (Donna Buckley, and her children; Jessie, Kayla, and Bailey) all of Cambridge, Bryan Miller (Kristi Adams) of St. Michaels, Step-son; Timmy Moore of Oxford, Step daughter; Tina Jenell (David) of Christiansburg, VA. 5 Grandchildren; Cally, Kayla, Josh, Kristen, and Bryan, Jr. 2 Great-grandchildren; Colton, and Payton. In addition he is survived by a brother David “Bunky†Miller (Marybelle) of Tilghman, and a sister; Virginia Ross of Easton. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Billy Miller. Funeral services will be held at the Tilghman United Methodist Church, Tilghman. On Friday, September 26, 2014 at 2:00PM where friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Tilghman Memorial Cemetery. Memorial Donation may be made to the Tilghman U.M.C. P.O. Box 108 Tilghman, MD 21671 Arrangements are by the Ostrowski Funeral Home, St. Michaels.
