Catherine was a jolly person as her last name states. She was always happy and joyful and willing to have a conversation with anyone that she met. She attended church services every Sunday and always had a soul stirring testimony to tell about how good the Lord has been to her. She especially enjoyed the “huggy” time to conversate with the other members of the congregation. Catherine’s faithful sister-in-law Essie Cephas would stop and pick her up every Sunday rain or shine. They were the Best of Friends for many years and would talk and share lots of joyful experiences together.
Catherine was the loving wife of Louis Andrew Jolley, Sr. for 68 years. Besides her husband, she leaves to mourn, five children, Gloria Jean Thompson of East New Market, MD, William H. Jolley of Los Angeles, CA, Louis Andrew Jolley Jr., (Lanora) of Hurlock, MD, Loistine Jolley of Cambridge, MD, and Bernet Jones of Hurlock, MD. She also leaves to cherish her memories 22 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren, including one that was born on April 25, 2013, a brother, Wilbur Sampson of Hurlock, MD, a sister, Corina Rhodes of Denver, CO, a sister-in-law, Martha Sampson of Hurlock, MD, two aunts, Elizabeth Farrare of Vienna, MD, and Hilda White of Baltimore, MD, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Purnell Sampson and Linwood Sampson, two sons-in-law, Carlton W. Jones, Sr., and Willie T. Thompson, Sr., and a very faithful and special niece, Marie “Kitty” Hinton.
