Catherine Lois Yeager's Obituary
Catherine Lois Yeager of Easton, Maryland, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025. She was born on June 30, 1929, in Ellicott City, Maryland, to Mary Catherine Moxley Sauter and Marshall Franklin Sauter.
Lois was the devoted wife of William Yeager for 59 years. The two of them cherished one another's company and enjoyed day trips and spending time in their garden. She was the loving mother of Catherine Yeager Page (Devin) and beloved grandmother of Kyle and Corinne Page.
Lois graduated from Ellicott City High School and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Maryland (now McDaniel) College and her Master of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin. She began her career teaching English at Howard High School and later transitioned to a position as a guidance counselor. After taking time off to raise her daughter, she returned to work as an instructional assistant at Idlewild, Mt. Pleasant, and Easton Elementary Schools. Upon her retirement in 1995, she continued to volunteer at Easton Elementary for many years.
Lois found great joy in the outdoors, especially watching songbirds and waterfowl at their home. Two of the highlights of her life were cross-country travel-a train trip to a conference as a young teacher and a meandering road trip with her husband in their retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, William Franklin Sauter. In addition to her husband, daughter, and grandchildren, she is survived by many cousins, great nieces, and great nephews.
A funeral service will be held on May 27, 2025, at Framptom Funeral Home at 312 South Talbot Street, St. Michaels, MD, 21663. Visitation will begin at 2:00, with a service at 3:00. Burial will take place on May 28, 2025, at 2:00 at the family plot in St. John's Cemetery at 3480 St. John's Lane, Ellicott City, MD 21042.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Immanuel Lutheran Church, where Lois was a long-time member, at 7215 Ocean Gateway, Easton, MD 21601.
