Cathleen Cross Johnson's Obituary
Cathleen Cross Johnson of Federalsburg, MD passed away peacefully at the home of her son and daughter-in-law in Seaford, DE on Friday, March 6, 2026. She was 91 years old.
Born on February 8, 1935 in Washington DC, Cathleen was the daughter Thomas B. and Pearl (Kleindienst) Cross. She attended BCC in Bethesda, MD. and graduated in 1953. Following graduation, Cathleen worked for an insurance company in Washington, DC until 1957.
On July 31,1956 she married Eldon Johnson, Sr. while he was a Navy Corpsman. She traveled with him until his release from active duty in 1965, and in 1967 the family moved to Easton. Cathleen worked for Memorial Hospital for a number of years, until working for Dr. Edgar Bering, until his retirement. Lastly, she worked on the assembly line at Black & Decker until its closing at which time she retired.
Left to cherish Cathleen's memory are her children Victoria "Vicky" Johnson (Bart) of Federalsburg, Veronica Packard of Holland, OH and Eldon Johnson, Jr. (Bonnie) of Seaford; her sister Carol Windsor of Frederick; her several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her numerous nieces and nephews.
Cathleen was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Pearl; her husband Eldon, Sr; her daughter Rosemarie Wheatley; and her brother Thomas Cross.
All services will be private. Inurnment will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Easton, MD.
