Charles Brittingham's Obituary
Charles "Chip" Edward Brittingham of Felton, DE, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 9, 2016 at Bay Health at Kent General in Dover, DE. He was 74 years old.
Chip as he was affectionately known was born on March 8, 1942 in Barclay, MD. He was the son of the late Mary Bowen and Thomas Brittingham.
Chip received his education at Kennard High School in Centreville, MD. He was employed as a truck driver for numerous companies in Maryland and Delaware until he retired. He later went to work for Harry Patel at Stop Shop on White Oak Road in Dover, DE where he worked for 18 years until he became ill.
Chip was a brother of the Masonic Prudence Lodge No. 6 in Dover, DE.
Chip loved to be around his family and friends and he loved to tell jokes and pick on people for fun. He also had a real passion for squirrel, rabbit, and deer hunting as well as cooking.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers James "Fuzz" Brittingham, Robert "Bob" Brittingham, and Conwell Brittingham, his sisters Mary Ann Baker and Rose Brittingham and children, James "Jimmy" Clark and Alisia Copper.
Chip leaves to cherish his memory his sister Della "Pat" Roberts (Leroy) of Smyrna, DE; his brother George Brittingham of Greensboro, MD; his children Michael Wilson (Darcel) of Greensboro, MD; Anthony Copper (Robyn) of Easton, MD; Darnell Copper of Easton, MD; Yvette Greene of Cordova, MD; Denise Copper of Easton, MD; Joy Johnson of Chestertown, MD; and Shonta Copper of Easton, MD; grandchildren Myakieasha Wilson, Jawaun Copper, Jaleesa Greene, Chanisha Wilson, Alayah Copper, Gavin Roach, and Jamier Copper; great-grandchildren Makiyah Wilson and Taelyn Young and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Special friends who were Like brothers, Reginald Copper, James "Buddy" Copper and Burton Copper, also a family who loved him dearly, Harry Patel's family.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 12 p.m. at the Easton Church of God in Easton, MD with Bishop Ruth Bratten officiating. Interment will follow at Sandtown Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
