Charles A. Fluharty, Jr.
Easton, Charles Albert “Jack” Fluharty, Jr. formerly of Tilghman, died at Genesis Healthcare “The Pines” in Easton, on Monday, September 2, 2013. He was 80. Born in Oxford on December 26, 1932, he was the son of the late, Charles A. “Jim” and Gertrude Porter Fluharty. He was in the first graduating class of St. Michaels High School where students went to 12th grade. Following his graduation, Jack began working on the water a career which he truly loved, and was very proud of. After he retired he began working with his son in his business, Fluharty’s Electric for 26 years until he retired a second time for health reasons. Mr. Fluharty was an avid fisherman & loved animals. He is survived by two sons; Timothy L. Fluharty of Easton, Douglas K. Fluharty of Trappe, one daughter; Charlotte E. Fluharty of Tilghman.one brother: George Fluharty (Ruth) of Wye Mills, two sisters; Margaret Allen Bradshaw, and Rachel Sawyer (Louie) all of Cambridge, Nine Grandchildren, and 11 Great-Grandchildren. In addition to his beloved wife Betty Jane Fluharty who died in 2005 he was preceded in death by a brother; David "Pucker" Fluharty. Funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, September 6, 2013 at the Tilghman United Methodist Church, Tilghman, MD. where friends may call from 1:00 until 2:00PM. Burial will be in the Tilghman Memorial Cemetery. A reception will follow the service at the Tilghman Fire Dept. Memorial donations may be made to the Tilghman Vol. Fire C. 5996 Tilghman Island Rd, Tilghman, MD 21671 or to the Tilghman United Methodist Church 5731 Tilghman Island Rd. Tilghman, MD. 21671 Arrangements are by the Ostrowski Funeral Home, St. Michaels.
