Charles Lewis Jenkins, Sr's Obituary
Charles Lewis Jenkins, Sr., a proud Baltimore native, passed away on April 29, 2026, at Harbor Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones. He was 85 years old.
Born on April 7, 1941, he was the son of Benjamin Franklin and Alpha Susan Jenkins. After finishing high school, Charles served in the United States Army, an experience that he always cherished. Following his discharge, he rolled up his sleeves and worked as a laborer in construction, contributing to projects like the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.
Charles had a love for the great outdoors. He was often found fishing, enjoying nature, or indulging in his passion for coin collecting. He also had a competitive spirit and loved playing pool, always up for a game.
Charles leaves behind his sons, Charles Jenkins, Jr. of East New Market and Christopher Jenkins of Baltimore, as well as his sister, Josephine Horney. He is also survived by a special niece, Wanda Daniels, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his many brothers and sisters, and of course, by his beloved parents.
In honor of his life and service, a chapel service with military honors will take place at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock, MD on Thursday, May 7, at 12:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather to remember and celebrate Charles, who will be deeply missed.
