Charles Dale Pinder's Obituary
Charles "Chuck" Dale Pinder, 71, of Laurel, DE, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025. Born on October 19, 1953, in Easton, MD, he was the son of the late Howard S. and Elizabeth Saunder Pinder. Chuck grew up in Queen Anne, MD, and graduated from Queen Anne High School in 1971.
Chuck spent over 40 years in the ice cream business with Jack & Jill Ice Cream in Federalsburg, MD, starting as a delivery driver and retiring as a manager in 2019. He and his wife of 30 years, Lois Ann, enjoyed weekends at their beach camper and shared Chuck's love of cooking, grilling, and smoking meats with family and friends. After retirement, Chuck and Lois enjoyed traveling in their motorhome, visiting loved ones, and attending races at Martinsville Speedway. He also remained active, working part-time for Utility/Eastern Shore Trailers.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Lois Ann; four children-Michelle Pepper (Greg), Shannon Hannawald (Matthew), Allyson Harmon (Dicky), and Jason Hoffman (Katie)-and nine grandchildren: Cody, Camryn, Brennan, AJ, Emma, Patrick, Jackson, Brody, and Lucas. He is also survived by his brother, Jeff Pinder (Trish), several nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, "Dixie Doodle." Chuck was preceded in death by his brother, Howard Pinder.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg, MD, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Federalsburg, MD.
A member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Chuck cherished his church community. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wesley UMC, c/o Kim Adams, 6707 Eldorado Road, Federalsburg, MD 21632.
