Charles G. Summers Jr.'s Obituary
Charles Gilbert Summers, Jr., best known as "Jimmy", passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, February 5, 2017 after a battle of cancer. He was 87.
He was born on July 22, 1929 in Rockhall, MD and was a son of the late Charles Gilbert Summers, Sr. and Ida P. Hignutt Summers.
Our heart is heavy and filled with sadness of our father's passing. We will not say he is away because he will always be with us.
Jimmy worked at Rudds Pest Control of Easton and the estate of J.C. White in Chester as a caretaker. Some of his favorite past times include hunting, fishing, baseball, cutting grass, and spending time with his grandchildren and family.
Mr. Summers is survived by four children, Penny Patrick (James) of Preston, Dawn Tribbitt (Howard Lee) of Denton, Patricia Sterling (Daniel) of Federalsburg, and Charles Summers, III (Helen) of Las Vegas; a sister Doris Richards of Sharptown, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wives Esther (Harris) and Audrey (Zinser) as well as two sons Bobby and Vaughn.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 11:00 am at Bloomery Cemetery in Smithville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made in his memory to Compass Regional Hospice, 255 Comet Drive, Centreville, MD 21617.
