Charles Albert Wilson, Sr.'s Obituary
Charles Albert Wilson, Sr. age 78, went home to be with the Lord on January, 10, 2025.
Charles was born at home on January 9, 1947 in Montrose, VA to the late Grady Albert Wilson and Tressie Mae (Gibson) Wilson.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, brother James Vance Wilson, baby sister and sister Frances (Wilson) Henry, brother-in-laws Charles Hubbard, Charles Price, Sr., William Moore, George Bryan, Norman "Buddy" Henry and John Jasinski, sister-in-law Alice Marie Wilson and the late Joyce (Rice) Wilson.
Charles is survived by wife Dorothy of thirty years, two sons Charles A. Wilson, Jr (Ann-deceased), Jason A. Wilson (Amy), step-daughters Juanita, Patricia, and Cynthia. Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Sisters Lois Jasinski, Sylvia Price, Shirley Hubbard and Bessie Moore.
Charles was a worker from an early age, picking up pop bottles off the roads and streets to buy a soda and movie ticket. He learned the value of a dime and what it could buy him. At age 16, he helped his father and brother with the sawmill logging business.
At age 17 Charles gave his whole heart to the Lord, and Jesus became real and foremost first in his life. He enjoyed visiting the nursing homes, praying with the residents and singing to them about Jesus' love.
Charles worked for the Charles County Board of Education in La Plata, MD as a General Maintenance worker for 23 years from 1974 until his retirement in 1997. He worked in plumbing, carpentry, electric, pest control, food service delivery and wherever he was needed.
Charles drove the bus, sold records/tapes for the "Journeymen Gospel Group" and later formed his own group the "Harbor of Light Singers" in the late 1970's, early 80's.
Charles and Dorothy met at the Worship Center Church in Waldorf, MD. They were married October 8, 1994 and in 1997 moved to the Eastern Shore to their present home near Federalsburg. They started attending Living Waters Assembly Church in July 1997 until the time of his passing.
A viewing will be held at Framptom Funeral Home by the Coales in Federalsburg, Maryland on Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 5pm until 7pm. The family will receive callers again Friday morning from 10am until 11am at which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor Peter Harrison officiating. Burial will follow at Hill Crest Cemetery in Federalsburg, MD.
