Charles Garland Wroten Sr's Obituary
Charles Garland Wroten, Sr. lost his brave battle of 3 years to lung and brain cancer on April 4, 2023. He was 77.
Charles was born January 20, 1946, on his mother’s birthday, to the late Garland and Madeline Williams Wroten.
Being one of 10 children, he learned to work at an early age. He worked in farming, pest control, raising chickens, and tree work proving to be a hard-working man. Charles loved to entertain and always had a joke to tell. He enjoyed country music and playing in many local bands. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family that he loved so much. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and family.
His memory will live through his loving wife and caregiver of 35 years, Louise “Weezy” Wroten of Hurlock, 2 sons Darren Wroten (Melissa) and Chuck Wroten, a daughter Melissa Hoffman (Alan), 3 brothers Roger Wroten (Elaine), Bill Wroten (Nancy) and Ernie Wroten (Kathy), 2 sisters Doris Nichols and Patti Short (Fred), grandchildren Kayla Bryant, Allyssa and Megan Hoffman, Jacob Wroten, Brett Geaman, step-son Danny Nickerson (Valerie), step-daughters Debra West (Scott), Sheila Fooks (Jeff), Wendy Bauerlien (Jerrod) and Brenda Dostal, step-grandchildren Justin and Jason McConnell, Scotty West, Daniel Nickerson, Melissa Thomas, Hunter Fooks, Taylor Bennett, Cory Bauerlien, Zac Dostal, and Erin Dostal. Along with 13 great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and several special friends.
He is proceeded in death by his brothers Richard and Bobby Wroten, 2 sisters and their husbands, Betty and Francis Harrison and Norma and Roy Everage.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Grace Baptist Church, 510 North Main St., Hurlock, MD on Friday, April 14, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.
