Charles W. Dolby's Obituary
Charles W. Dolby of Federalsburg, MD passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010 at the Berlin Nursing & Rehab. Center in Berlin, MD. He was 94.
He was born May 1, 1915 in Hurlock, MD the son of the late John and Lucy Cannon Dolby. His wife, Eunice Katherine Mays Dolby, preceded him in death on Dec. 21, 2006.
He was a WW II Army Veteran receiving the Purple Heart Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with two bronze stars. He worked as a mechanic for Noble Motor Rebuilders in Easton until retirement.
He is survived by six grandchildren, Linda Alejandro of Parsonsburg, MD with whom he made his home, Michelle Mansfield of Parsonsburg, Brenda Anderson of Dothan, AL, Tommy Murphy of Cambridge, Daniel Hoover of Hawaii, and David Hoover of Idaho, many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, two sisters, Doris Lomax of Cordova, Gladys Hartzel of Bridgeville, and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife he was preceded in death by three step-children, Mary K. Andrews, Arthur W. Hoover, Jr. and Anna Mae Murphy, a grandson Ricky Murphy, and eight siblings, James Lee Dolby, Sr., Melvin Dolby, Wm. “Bill” Dolby, Arthur Dolby, Raymond Dolby, Elsie Coleman, Bessie Christopher, and Florence Darling.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 19, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Rev. Glenn Staehli officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery, Beulah, MD. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
