Charles W. "Charlie" Richardson, Jr.'s Obituary
Charles W. “Charlie” Richardson, Jr. of Sharptown, MD, passed away on Friday, March 5, 2010 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. He was 65.
He was born March 25, 1944 in Cambridge, MD the son of Lula Mae Marine Richardson Compher of Salisbury and the late Charles W. Richardson, Sr. His wife Virgie T. Richardson preceded him in death on June 6, 2005.
He was a graduate of North Dorchester High School Class of 1963. He retired as an electrician from E.I. DuPont in Seaford. Charlie was a former Wicomico Fire Deputy and was a member of the Sharptown Volunteer Fire Co. for 35 years, serving on numerous committees and working at the Carnival in Bingo and selling car chances. He enjoyed going to Auction Sales and camping with his family.
He is survived by a daughter Debbie A. Wheedleton of Galestown, MD, a son C.W. Richardson, III of Sharptown, 2 grandchildren Kelly Bright of Salisbury and Eddie Wheedleton of Galestown, 2 great-grandchildren, Destiny Bright and Jonathan Wheedleton, 2 brothers Jerry Richardson of Sharptown and Larry Richardson of Salisbury, several nieces and nephews, and 3 brothers-in-law that he considered as brothers, Frank Marine of East New Market, MD, Russell Marine of Reliance, MD, and Marty Reddington of Dagsboro, DE.
Funeral services will be held on Wed. March 10, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Rev. James Penuel officiating. A Firemen’s Memorial Service will be held at 1:45 p.m. just prior to the service. Interment will be in Hill Crest Cemetery in Federalsburg. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Wed. from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m.
