Clayton D. Rosser's Obituary
Clayton Dalious Rosser of Federalsburg passed away at his home on Wednesday, January 2, 2008. He was 85 years old.
He was born on March 30, 1922 in Federalsburg, son of the late Paul and Minnie Nagel Rosser.
Clayton graduated from Federalsburg High School in 1939. He was employed by the Glenn L. Martin Company where he was a Lathe operator. From there he served his country in the United States Army Air Force. He served for three years in the 20th Air Force in the Pacific Theater. He was stationed in India, Guam, and was on Tinian at the time the Enola Gaye was dispatched.
After returning home, he married Linda Patchett on October 5, 1948. He had previously worked for the Holt Oil Company and later was self employed as a Caroline County school bus contractor for 27 years and also was a broiler contractor.
He was a member and trustee at Christ United Methodist Church in Federalsburg, and was a member of the former United Methodist Men, a member of the Masonic Nanticoke Lodge No. 172, the Federalsburg VFW Post 5246, and the American Legion Post 243.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda Patchett Rosser, and a son, Gary David Rosser and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Clayton Gregory Rosser, a sister, Louise Rosser, and a brother, Everett E. Rosser.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church in Federalsburg with Rev. Dale Evans and Rev. Dan Walker officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Cemetery. Friends may call at Framptom Funeral Home on Friday evening from 7-9 p.m. with a VFW Memorial service to be held at 8 p.m. and also may call at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
