Constance G. ("Connie") Haddaway's Obituary
Constance G. Haddaway McDaniel, Constance G. “Connie†Haddaway died at the University of MD. Shore Medical Center, Easton, on Saturday, April 26, 2014. She was 79. Born on December 21, 1934 in Talbot Co. she was the daughter of the late George and Maude Scharch Cummings. She attended Talbot Co. public schools, first in Tilghman, then St. Michaels. She married Chester Haddaway a Tilghman Island waterman, and they made their home for many years there. Later they moved to McDaniel. Connie worked at various jobs in and around the Bay Hundred area, but mainly she was a homemaker something that she took very seriously. In addition to her beloved husband Chester, Connie is survived by a daughter; Cindy Janda of McDaniel, four Grandchildren; Randy Haddaway, Jr., Jennifer Bridges, Greta Corkran and Jerry Janda III, 9 Great-Grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two children; Marilyn Dianne Haddaway, and Randy Haddaway, 2 brothers; John Cummings, Donnie Cummings, 3 sisters; Peggy Granger, Katherine Lomax, and Anna Mae Cummings. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the Tilghman United Methodist Church at 2:00PM where friends may call from 1:00 unit 2:00PM. Burial will be in the Tilghman Memorial Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Tilghman United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 108 Tilghman, MD. 21671. Arrangements are by the Ostrowski Funeral Home, St. Michaels.
