Constance Ann Leister's Obituary
Easton; Constance Ann Leister of Bishopville MD. died at Talbot Hospice House Easton, on Thursday July 17, 2025. She was 84.
Born on November 23, 1940 in Baltimore MD., she was the daughter of the late Norman and Elizabeth Mooney Mathias. She was raised in Baltimore (Hamden area) and after graduating from high school, she met and married Louis F. Leister. They lived in the Baltimore area and moved to Harford County for a few years before returning to Baltimore. They were able to retire in 2014 and they fulfilled their dream of living near the beach, moving to the Eastern Shore and settling in Bishopville. Mr. Leister died in March 2023.
Connie was a woman with a great sense of humor who enjoyed poking fun at life and people, never taking anything too seriously. She was a natural entertainer and wanted to create joyful and memorable social experiences for her friends and loved ones, especially family dinners, crab feasts and card parties. She opened her home often to those that needed a place to stay or just an ear and a cup of coffee.
She loved her bingo games and would often offer to be the carpool chauffer to her friends on outings. She loved the beach and was happiest when they were able to purchase a second home in 1980 and spend her time "down the ocean."
She is survived by her children; Louis F. Leister, II (Christine) of Easton, Lisa Lonaberger (Edron) of Celebration, FL. Grandchildren: Megan, Lauren, Maryanne, Michelle (John) and Adam. Great-grandchildren: Charlie and Penelope. Siblings: Bonnie (Norm) and Joan. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her grandson Louis III and her siblings Donald, Geraldine, James and Elizabeth.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic church on Friday July 25, 2025 at 11:00AM with Father Michael Angeloni, as the celebrant.
Burial will be in the Oxford Cemetery.
