Cora Bell O'Connor's Obituary
Cora Bell O’Connor of Federalsburg passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Easton Memorial Hospital in Easton, MD. She was 84.
She was born on June 18, 1929 in Smithville, Caroline County, Maryland the daughter of the late William Harlan Clevenger and Maggie Dryden Lare Clevenger.
She graduated from Federalsburg High School with the class of 1946. She was married to the late Harry Joseph O’Connor for 44 years. She was a waitress for many years at the Highway Restaurant, and later worked for the former Excelsior Pearl Works in Federalsburg, Eileens Restaurant in Hurlock, Fox’s Store in Hurlock, and Wetcher Whistle in Federalsburg
She loved her garden and tending to her yard. She was a member of Union United Methodist Church in Federalsburg and was a member with the church widows group. She loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by one son, William O’Connor and his wife, Keli of Federalsburg, and two daughters, Judy Andrews and her husband David of Hurlock, and Amanda Dean and her husband Chuck of Denton; 7 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandsons, a step daughter, Pat Moore of Santan Valley, AZ, 8 step grand children, 22 step grandchildren, and 9 step great-great grandchildren, a brother in law, William Frampton of Denton, a very special friend, Steve Matthews of Federalsburg and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Joseph O’Connor, a son, James Joseph O’Connor, and three sisters, Anna Mae Meredith, Eloise “Doodle” Fretterd and Martha Lee Frampton
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 16, 2013 at 11:00a.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with the Bishop Ray Parsons officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6-8p.m. and 10-11a.m. on Monday. Interment will follow in Bloomery Cemetery near Smithville.
