Courtney Dunn's Obituary
Courtney May Dunn of Salisbury passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 in Harmony, Maryland. She was 30.
She was born on June 11, 1994, the daughter of James H. Dunn and Frances Sinclair Dunn.
A dedicated educator, Courtney pursued her love for math by teaching at Salisbury Christian School after earning her Masters Degree from St. Mary's College. She was also pursuing her Doctorate Degree. She had a special bond with her students, who she considered her own children, always pushing them to reach their fullest potential.
Outside of the classroom, Courtney found joy in singing, reading, and exploring the beauty of nature. Whether she was soaking up the sun at Assateague or bike riding at Blackwater Wildlife Refuge, she cherished the peace and tranquility of the outdoors.
A devout member of Faith Fellowship Church, Courtney found solace in her faith and cherished the moments of worship with her family and friends. Her voice uplifted the congregation and touched the hearts of all who heard her sing.
She is survived by her parents: James & Frances Dunn of Preston, a brother Chip Dunn and his fiance Samantha Melson of Bridgeville, a nephew Eli Dunn and a niece Delilah Dunn; Maternal grandmother Della Sinclair of Preston, and Paternal Grandparents Howard "Buddy" Dunn and his wife Sue of Preston, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, students, friends and her rescue dog, Lola.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 12:00 Noon at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg. Burial will follow at Hill Crest Cemetery in Federalsburg. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 and again on Thursday from 10:00 to 12:00 prior to the start of the service.
A Celebration and Impact of Courtney's life will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 1:00 at Salisbury Christian School, 807 Parker Road, Salisbury, Maryland.
