Craig H. Langwost's Obituary
Craig H. Langwost of Preston, passed away on March 13, 2015 at his home in Preston. He was 83 years old.
He was born on January 26, 1932 in New York and was the son of the late Herbert Langwost and Hedwig Bergman Langwost.
Mr. Langwost graduated from Andrew Jackson High School class of 1950. In 1952, he entered the United States Air Force, where he served in the Korean War. On April 16, 1955, he married Elizabeth M. “Betty” Kilpatrick Langwost. He later attended Hofstra University earning his bachelor’s degree. After graduating with his bachelor’s degree from Hofstra, Craig attended Adelphi University, where he earned his master’s degree. Mr. Langwost was employed for more than thirty years as an engineer for Grumman Aerospace, where he retired from in 1992. After retiring, he moved to Preston, where he devoted much of his time tending to one of his passions, his horse farm. Craig also had a love for sports, particularly tennis and golf. He was a longtime member of the Caroline County Country Club and the American Hanoverian Society.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elizabeth M. “Betty” Kilpatrick Langwost, of Preston, three children, Rebecca L. Langwost Barlow and her husband Scott, of Preston, Craig H. Langwost and his wife Rene Edgar Langwost, of Preston, and Chris J. Wade and her husband David, of Buxton, North Carolina, four grandchildren, Erika Wade Rosso, David Wade, Raechl Langwost Cannon, and Jaclyn Langwost, and two great grandchildren, Grace Mae Cannon and Sienna Rosso.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery near Hurlock with Reverend Thomas Becker officiating.
