C. Wesley Taylor, Sr.'s Obituary
C. Wesley Taylor, Sr. of Preston, MD went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010 at home on his beloved farm. He was 84 years old.
He was born Sept. 14, 1925 in Harmony, MD the son of the late Robert Noble Taylor and Flora Williamson Taylor. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Hilda C. Taylor who died on Oct. 31, 1988.
He was a lifelong livestock and grain farmer. He had former memberships in Caroline County Farm Bureau, Preston Lions Club, and Caroline County Chorale Society. He had sung in the Atlanta Road Alliance Church choir and had always been active in the church and enjoyed singing in the music groups within the church. During his retirement he enjoyed tending to his fruit trees and berries in his own backyard.
He is survived by his wife Betty Ann Taylor, four children, Calvin W. Taylor, Jr. and his wife Debbie of Preston, K. Renee Manka and her husband Dan of Fairmont, WV, Dr. Shawn M. Taylor and her husband Les Karenbauer of Nicholasville, KY, and Sue E. Winkler and her husband Brett of Felton, DE; 12 grandchildren, four step-children, Wanda L. Rhodes of Seaford, Veronica A. Rosemary (Ed) of Preston, Douglas A. Morris (Tracy) of Seaford, and Ricky L. Morris of LaGrange, GA; five step-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren and
several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three siblings, Pauline Maloney, Kenneth Taylor and Claude M. Taylor.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug. 6, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Atlanta Road Alliance Church, 22625 Atlanta Road, Seaford, DE. Interment will be at 4:00 p.m. at Grove Cemetery near Preston, MD. Friends may call at the Framptom Funeral Home on Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 12:00 to 1:00 at the church.
