Dale Leslie Wright's Obituary
Dale Leslie Wright, Sr. of Federalsburg passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017 at Mallard Bay Nursing Home in Cambridge. He was 90 years old.
He was born on August 10, 1927 in the house on Chipmans Lane that he made his home for 90 years. Dale was the son of the late Robert Wright and Eunice Todd Wright. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Naomi Wright on May 11, 2007.
Dale graduated from Federalsburg High School. He served his country by serving in the United States Navy. He was an agriculture and poultry farmer for his entire life and worked the farm that has been in the family for over 100 years. He served for over 25 years on the Board of Directors for Thresherman Steam Show. Dale also served as past commander for the Federalsburg V.F.W. Post 5246 for two terms.
He is survived by two children, Les Wright, Jr. and his wife, Shirley of Federalsburg, Jennifer Lister of Berlin, five grandchildren, Jimmy Shockley of Halethorp, MD, Shane Shockley and Melinda Lambert both of Federalsburg, Gordon Wright, Jr. of Salisbury, Trisha Wright of Easton, and six great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a son, Gordon Wright, Sr., three brothers, and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 12 noon at Framptom Funeral Home In Federalsburg with Rev. Denzil Cheek officiating. A VFW Memorial service will be conducted at 11:45 a.m. Interment will follow at Bloomery Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 11:00-11:45.
