Daniel S. Bawel's Obituary
Daniel S. Bawel was born to Orrie Bawel and Anna Mae Bawel on July 5th, 1944, on the family farm in Greenwood. He unexpectedly passed away at the same family residence of his birth on April 1st, 2023 at the age of 78.
Daniel Bawel is survived by his wife Connie (Miller) Bawel of 57 years. Together they shared a wonderful family; Two children: D. Arlen Bawel and Bethany Chase all of Greenwood. Four grandchildren: Edward Howell, III and his wife Nichole of Bridgeville, Christopher Howell and his wife Crystal of Seaford, Makenzie Harriman and her husband Cole of Greenbush, ME, and D. Shane Bawel of Greenwood. Three great grandchildren: Brystal Howell, Leihlani Harriman, Reed Harriman and two more on the way. Three siblings: Anna Joseph of Bridgeville, Vivan Smith and her husband Elwood of Bridgeville, Phillip Bawel and his wife Carol of Millsboro.
Daniel will be remembered as a loving man who enjoyed the simple things in life; like having a cup of coffee with his friends, family breakfast at the local diner, and attending farm shows. He was truly a man to be admired.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings: Dorothy Massey, Allen Bawel and Gertrude Harmon.
As a long time grain farmer and dump truck driver for Givens, Eddie Kay and later Chaney Enterprises. He met many people throughout Delaware and Maryland, and was well respected, sought after for his caringness and professionalism. While he was proud of his work, what he was the most proud of was his family, and the love he shared for them all.
A viewing will be held from 6pm-8pm, Thursday, April 13th at Greenwood Mennonite Church. Funeral services will be held at 10am , Friday, April 14th at Greenwood Mennonite church.
