Daniel C. Powell, Sr.'s Obituary
Daniel Cameron Powell, Sr. of Federalsburg, formally of Baltimore County, departed this life on Wed. Feb. 22, 2012 at his home with his loving wife, Ann C. Powell at his side.
He was 81.
Born Oct. 15, 1930 in Rosedale, MD he was the son of the late Ralph and Anna Seabore Powell.
He was a member of Hurlock Sons of the American Legion and Federalsburg VFW Post 5246. He recently received his sixty year pin from Jephthah Lodge 222 AF & AM where he served as Worshipful Master in 1959. He was a member of Nanticoke Lodge 172 AF & AM where he served as Worshipful Master in 1996 and 1997. He also served as Grand Inspector and Deputy Grand Lecturer for the Grand Lodge of Maryland AF & AM.
Besides his wife, Ann C. Powell, he is survived by a daughter Karen Nicholson and her husband, John, a son Daniel C. Powell, Jr. and his wife Karen, 4 grandchildren Sara and Catherine Nicholson, Cassie and Cameron Powell, III, 2 step-children Betsey Zelenski and her husband Mark, and Gary Swope, 2 step-grandchildren Matthew Zelenski and Heather Almony and her husband Bradley, and 3 step-great-grandchildren Owen, Blaze and Juliet Almony.
A Masonic service followed by a memorial service will be held on Friday, Feb. 24 at 1:00 at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg, MD with Rev. Walter F. Burgess officiating. Private inurnment will be at Mt. Joy Lutheran Church Cemetery in Gettysburg, PA. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to Caroline Hospice Foundation, Inc., PO Box 362, Denton, MD 21629.
