David Brummell, Sr.'s Obituary
David J. Brummell, Sr. of Federalsburg, MD passed away on Monday, Nov. 20, 2006 at the Memorial Hospital at Easton, MD. He was 71 years old.
He was born Dec. 10, 1934, the son of the late Jerome and Alice Cluff Brummell.
He was a graduate of Lockerman High School in Denton, and had served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955. He was awarded many certificates from the military service. He was a member of Blake Blaxtton American Legion Post # 77 in Easton, MD, a member of the AARP, and was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was employed by many trucking companies. He really enjoyed driving the bus for the Wesleyan Christian School in Denton, and enjoyed his hobbies of hunting and fishing.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Alice Brummell of Bridgeville, DE, Marilyn Burbage and her husband, Nelson, of Bridgeville, 2 sons, Maurice Brummell, and his wife, Gee, and Michael Brummell and his wife, Sharon , all of Bear, DE; 2 adopted sons, Kevin Brummell and Bradford Bolden, and his wife, Carolyn, all of Easton, a sister, Margaret A. Stanley, of Linkwood, MD; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, three aunts, Annie Woods, Hilda Hammond and Mary Blake, a daughter-in-law, Terry Brummell of Bridgeville, DE, a sister-in-law, Marie Brummell of Cambridge, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Bolden Brummell, 2 sons, David Brummell, Jr. and Carlos Brummell, and a brother, James Brummell.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Nov.28, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home, P.A. in Federalsburg with Minister Jeffrey Butler officiating. Interment will follow at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock, MD. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
