David Michael Milliken's Obituary
Beloved father, son, brother and grandfather, David “Mike” Milliken, of Easton, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Talbot Hospice in Easton at age 64. He was born on May 26, 1951 in San Pedro, CA , the son of Mary Jane Beckner Milliken and the late Norman Joseph Milliken.
Mike graduated from Easton High School (Class of 1970) and went on to attend the Pittsburgh Institution of Aeronautics, graduating in 1972. He had a great career driving trucks for Preston Trucking and New England Motor Freight while volunteering at the Preston Volunteer Fire Company and later, the Federalsburg Volunteer Fire Department. Mike’s desire to help others lead him to paramedic school and a career with Caroline, Sussex and Talbot County EMS Departments. He returned to the aviation industry as a mechanic for Air-Repair at Easton Airport. He also enjoyed volunteering for the Special Olympics.
He is survived by his three daughters, Michelle Swartz, of Preston, and her husband, Joel, Erin Milliken, of Denton, and Kelly Milliken, of Stevensville, and her husband, Steve, his mother, Mary Jane Beckner Milliken, four grandchildren, Brandy Ferguson, Carter Ferguson, Nathan Bobitka, Evie Swartz, and one sister, Patricia Lambdin, of Trappe.
Mr. Milliken is preceded in death by a brother, Norman F. “Chip” Milliken and a sister Mary Jane “Midge” Milliken.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with the Reverend Denzil Cheek officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1138 Parsons Road, Salisbury, MD 21801.
