David E Minton, Sr.'s Obituary
David E. Minton of Greenwood passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at Polaris Health and Rehabilitation Center in Milford. He was 87.
He was born on May 13, 1933 in Baltimore, Maryland the son of the late William M. Minton and Ada L. Abbott Bobak.
David married Amy L. Sherman Minton on October 16, 1965. She preceded him in death on April 16, 1990.
He enjoyed doing scrap metal, hunting, gardening, and surf fishing.
He was a very faithful member of Greenwood Mennonite Church for many years. He was baptized on November 18, 2007. He was an avid coffee drinker and would always arrive early on Sunday morning to enjoy the fellowship and a good cup of coffee around the table with friends before the service began.
He is survived by two sons, David Minton, Jr. and his wife Melody of Greenwood, and Steven Minton and his wife Jaki of Frankfort, Germany. One daughter, Tammy Taylor and her husband Zack of Camden, one son-in-law, Mark Miller of Millsboro, seven grandchildren: Michael Reynolds and his wife Holly, Angela Minton, Stephanie Minton, Amanda Nichols, Jessica Minton, Justin Minton and Ashley Taylor, and three great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Miller.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 2:00 at Greenwood Mennonite Church. Interment will follow at Todd’s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends on hour prior to the service.
