David Thomas Watson's Obituary
David Thomas Watson, Sr. of Preston, MD passed away on Friday, April 9, 2010 at the Memorial Hospital at Easton. He was 61.
He was born May 8, 1948 in Franklin, PA, the son of the late Grace Mauk Watson and the late Thomas and Sallie Watson.
He had worked for Franklin Steel Mill in Franklin, PA. He served his country in the US Navy from 1967 to 1970 where he worked on F-4 Phantoms and was a jet mechanic on the USS Saratoga Aircraft Carrier. He helped build the prison barge in Avondale, New Orleans, cargo ships for the Navy in Ingalls, Miss., and oil tankers in Newport News, VA. He was a lifetime member of the Federalsburg VFW Post #5246. He enjoyed hunting.
He is survived by two children, Bobbi Jo Callis and her husband Reed of Preston with whom he made his home, and David Thomas Watson, II of Bluff, TN, six grandchildren, Taylar, Zachary, Olivia, Kristen, Kyle and Maggie, twin sister Diane Otto (John) of Virginia, 5 additional siblings, Sallie Wright (Sam) of Buffalo, NY, Cathy Snyder, Jim Watson (Becky) and Randy Watson (Rhonda), all of Franklin, PA, and Thomas W. Watson, II (Laurie) of Jacksonville, FL, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wed. April 14, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg, MD with
officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock, MD. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a VFW service to be held at 8:00 p.m and on Wed. from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.
