Dawson H. Anthony's Obituary
Dawson H. Anthony died at his home in Federalsburg on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013. He was 82.
He was born in Greensboro, MD on January 30, 1931 the son of the late William Anthony and Susie Flowers Anthony. He was a graduate of Greensboro High School and then entered the U S Air Force during the Korean War. On July 16, 1952 he married the former Betty Hackett. He worked for Federalsburg Fuel Express, the former Ruf’s Liquors, Caroline Poultry, and also drove a school bus in the Federalsburg district for many years. He was a life member of Federalsburg Volunteer Fire Company, past Commander of Federalsburg V F W Post #5246, served on the Town Council of Federalsburg and was a member of American Legion. He is survived by a son, Bruce Anthony of Federalsburg, a daughter, Joyce Lewis of Federalsburg, 7 grandchildren, David Werner Jr. (Rachel), Jeremy Werner (Nicki), Brandon Werner, Elizabeth Hitch (Will), Jaclyn Anthony (Jimmy), Nicole Hastings (Ronnie), Steven Atkinson (Kathy), 9 great-grandchildren, Ronnie, Christabelle, Billy, Kaylie, Josh, Zachary, Dylan, Michael and Layla, 2 brothers, Lewis Anthony and Stumpy Anthony (Christine) Greensboro, MD and two sisters, Kitty Ottinger of Dover, DE, Virginia Cahall (Tommy) Dover, DE many nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law, Ella Hackett of Salisbury. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Hackett Anthony on May 10, 2008, a son, Brian Anthony, 8 brothers and sisters and a son-in-law, Mark Lewis. Funeral services for him will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Rev. Denzil Cheek officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and also on Saturday from 12-1:00 p.m.
The family has requested that donations be made to Framptom Funeral Home 216 N. Main Street Federalsburg, MD 21632 to help defray funeral expenses.
