Deana King Morris' Obituary
Deana King Morris, 52, of Seaford, DE, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 4, 2025 at the Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix, AZ.
Deana was born August 22,1972 in Salisbury, MD. She was the daughter of Alton Clarence King (deceased) and Deborah Faye King of Seaford, DE.
Deana graduated from Lee University in Cleveland, TN in 1993 earning a bachelor's degree in social studies, and completed coursework in Special Education from University of Delaware.. She was a dedicated private and public school teacher having taught Vocal/General Music, Family and Consumer Science, and Special Education.
As a devout Christian, her faith and love for her family were central to her life. With her love of teaching only being shadowed by her love of music. She was an anointed worship leader - an incredible vocalist - and led the congregations of Wyndham Church of God (Windham, ME), Lifeway Church of God (Bridgeville, DE) and Dagsboro Church of God in lively and passionate worship each week. She was a gifted partner in pastoral ministry with Darrel, her husband of 17 years and was a wise, astute, gifted and compassionate First Lady.
Deana was an avid reader with her favorite genre being mystery novels. She loved to travel and was an expert at planning trips and making sure everyone "can do it all." Deana loved being outside especially swimming, riding her bike and taking walks. She was an incredible cook and challenged herself to create delicious dishes and recipes.
Deana is survived by her husband, Darrel; her mother, Deborah King; a sister, Jennifer Stevens and husband Andy Stevens; three children: Cpl. Colin Morris and wife Ashley Morris, Chaplain (LTJG) Reece Morris and wife Kallista Morris, and Layne Morris; and three granddaughters: Lillyan Charvat, Lyla Morris and Eleanor Morris.
A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, August 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Lifeway Church of God in Bridgeville. Burial in Bridgeville Cemetery will follow the service.
