Delema May Callaway's Obituary
Delema M. "Del" Hammond Callaway, of Bridgeville, DE. died at her home on Thursday, June 29, 2023. She was 90.
Born in Harrington, DE on March 8, 1933 she was a daughter of the late Ira and Helen Hastings Hammond.
She retired in 1989 after thirty-six years of service in the Human Resources Department as Benefits Coordinator at Caulk/Dentsply in Milford.
She was an active member of the Bethel United Methodist Church, Oak Grove since 1958, and has been a Certified Lay Speaker since 1987.
Del graduated from Greenwood High School in 1951 and served as President of the Greenwood Alumni Association in 1989, and remained on the Executive Committee until 2003. She was Secretary of Bethel Cemetery Association, Oak Grove. Also, she served as Secretary for the church and Bethel Community House. She was a member of the Adopt-a- Highway Program for the State of Delaware.
Mrs. Callaway is survived by two nieces Teresa Lord, and Patricia Faye Passwaters, one nephew Dennis Lineweaver. She was preceded in death by her husband M. Clark Callaway in 1996, a brother Roy Hammond in 2003, a sister Alice Jeanette Lineweaver in 2018, and a nephew Douglas Lineweaver in 2003.
Funeral Services will be held at the Framptom Funeral Home 216 N. Main St. Federalsburg, MD on Thursday July 6, 2023, at 11:00AM where a viewing will be held from 10:00AM until 11:00AM
Interment will be in the Bethel Cemetery, Oak Grove.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Bethel Cemetery Association Inc. 29449 North Oak Grove Rd., Seaford, DE. 19973.
