Delores Jenkins' Obituary
Delores Elizabeth Jenkins departed this life on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at Peak Healthcare at the Pines in Easton, MD. She was born in Dorchester County on February 8, 1940, to the late Curtis and Ruby Jenkins.
Delores received her early education at Jonestown School located in Jonestown, MD and later attended Lockerman High School in Denton, MD.
At an early age, Delores made the choice to be a follower of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and was a dedicated member of Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church in Preston, MD. She was always willing to help where she could. She loved the Lord and her church family.
She worked for several years in Cambridge, MD and Hurlock, MD in the daycare field. She later worked for ConAgra for more than 15 years before she retired.
Delores, or 'Dee' as she was affectionately known, was a loving Mother and caring sister, with a pleasant spirit. She enjoyed completing crossword puzzles, watching Wheel of Fortune and her daily afternoon soap operas. Dee was a passionate fan of football and she loved basketball and loved rooting for her favorite teams the Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Lakers.
Also preceding her in death are four brothers; Edward "Bootsie" Jenkins, Frankie Jenkins, Curtis Jenkins, Jr., and Robert Jenkins; two sisters, Betty Ross and Violeece Jones.
Cherishing Dee's memories are seven children: Bruce Jenkins (Evenlyn) of Benton, LA, Lauretta Jenkins (Mark) of Baltimore, MD, Marsha Jenkins of Cambridge, MD, Sherita Candy (Gregory) of Cambridge, MD, Cornell Jenkins of Cambridge, MD, Deeirdra Batson (Troy) of Seaford, DE, and Tracy Jenkins of Cambridge, MD; one sister, Ann Roberts of Hurlock, MD; two brothers, Jerome Jenkins and Dennis Jenkins, both of Harrisburg, PA; 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; two special friends, Catherine Lewis and Marie Chester, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
