Denise Lynne Carruolo's Obituary
St. Michaels - Denise Lynne Carruolo of St. Michaels, MD, passed away at her home on Monday, May 25, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, on May 12, 1968, she was the daughter of the late Thomas E. and Nancy Dougherty, and the sister of the late Thomas Dougherty. Denise grew up in Philadelphia, where she graduated from the Parkway Program. She went on to become a legal assistant for a prestigious law firm in the city. Looking for a small-town atmosphere, her travels brought her to St. Michaels, MD, in 2016, where she worked at Gatsby's Antiques until its closing.
In 1997, she married the love of her life, Louis Carruolo. Denise adored spending time with her grandchildren, frequently taking them on cherished "Nana Adventures." She settled deeply into the St. Michaels community, regularly enjoying time with many dear friends and becoming an avid participant in trivia nights at the Carpenter Street Saloon.
In addition to her beloved husband, Lou, she is survived by her aunts, Kathleen Collier and Rosemary Dougherty; her stepchildren, Toni DeMayo (Nick) and Lou Carruolo (Kathleen); her grandchildren, Payton, Julian, and Lily; her cousins, Kim, Bill, Bryan, Tricia, Lisa, and Crissie; her brother-in-law, Ralph Carruolo; her lifelong childhood friend, Michele Massaro; and many wonderful friends in St. Michaels.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on June 20, 2026, at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in St. Michaels, MD.
