Dennis Whiteley's Obituary
Dennis M. Whiteley, of Royal Oak, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at his home. He was 62.
He was born on February 22, 1955 in Easton and was son of Helen P. Murphy Whiteley and the late Melvin Leroy Whiteley, Sr.
Dennis graduated from North Dorchester High School. After graduation, he joined the United States Air Force, where he was later honorably discharged. After his retirement from the Air Force, Dennis worked on various farms through-out the county. Later, he was employed as a Oil Delivery Driver for Pep-Up until his retirement in 2016. Dennis enjoyed the outdoors, especially hiking the mountains of Deep Creek, which he took trips to many times a year. He enjoyed boating, swimming, College Basketball and Football. He loved spending time with his grandsons, whom he thought the world of. Most of all he was devoted father, grandfather, son, companion, brother and friend.
He is survived by two daughters, Denise Whiteley of Federalsburg and Bambi Whiteley of Farmington; two grandsons Hunter Whiteley of Farmington and Treavor Whiteley of Federalsburg; his mother Helen Whiteley of Seaford, his fiance and companion of over 17 years Cecilia Shannon of Royal Oak; two brothers Melvin Whiteley, Jr. and his wife Beatrice of Michigan and Richard Whiteley and his wife Leslie of Bridgeville; one sister Patricia Elms and her husband Eddie of Bridgeville as well as one niece and two nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 12:30pm the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Pastor Tim Wilson officiating. Interment will be private. Family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service.
