Donald E. James
Easton, Donald E. James, born September 1, 1932, attended Baltimore Polytechnic High School and served in the U.S. Navy as a sonar operator aboard the USS Cobbler from 1950 to 1953. He earned a B.S. from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a J.D. from University of Baltimore School of Law. Don worked in the elevator industry for 38 years, retiring from Otis Elevator Company in 1987 and continued his work in the industry with Thyssen Elevator until 1995. After spending a few years researching and completing his family genealogy, Don was elected judge for the Talbot County, MD Orphans’ Court in 1998. Don served as Chief Judge on the court from 2002 until 2014. Don lost his beloved wife, Barbara, to cancer in 2013 and lost his own battle on June 2, 2015.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Easton Church of God, 1009 North Washington Street, Easton, MD 21601. Interment at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Rotary Club of St. Michaels, P.O. Box 394, St. Michaels, MD 21663.
