Donald K. Marvel's Obituary
Donald Kenneth Marvel of Greenwood, DE passed away on Friday, September 2, 2016 at his home. He was 77.
He was born on September 3, 1938 in Cambridge, the son of the late George W. Marvel and Helen McAllister Marvel.
He graduated from Federalsburg High School in the class of 1957. He married Jeanne Blades Marvel on July 24, 1959. After thirty years of service to Northrup Grumman as a cost estimator he retired in 1999.
Donald enjoyed playing golf his entire life and took pride in making his own golf clubs and making clubs for his friends. He enjoyed watching golf on TV even after he stopped playing, was an avid NASCAR fan enjoyed precious time with his grandchildren and day trips with his wife Jeanne.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, D. Jeanne Blades Marvel, two sons, Gregory Alan Marvel and his wife, Terri of Easton, Wade Marvel and his wife, Kendra of Ridgely, four grandsons, Donald Marvel of Camden, DE and Jamie Marvel both of Ridgely, Gregory A. Marvel, Jr. and Jeremy Marvel both of Chestertown, and special young ladies, Ashley Mitchell and Taylor Layton who were like granddaughters. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Ray Marvel, brother-in-law, William Blades, and a sister-in-law, Mary Mae Dillard.
