Donald E. Thomas' Obituary
Donald E. Thomas of Federalsburg passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at TidalHealth Nanticoke in Seaford. He was 93.
He was born on July 16, 1932 in Harmony, Maryland, the son of the late William "Lloyd" Thomas and Mary Turner Thomas.
After graduating from high school, he served in the United States Army. After his service, Donald married his first wife, Martha Ann Tate of Georgia in 1954. After 51 years of marriage, Martha Ann passed away in 2005. Later, he met Mary Kilmon Lowery of Tilghman and they married in 2009 and were together 15 years until her passing in 2024.
He worked for the United States Post Office in Preston as a postal carrier where he retired after 30 years. He continued working in construction for another 20 years.
Donald enjoyed bowling, dancing, cheering on the Baltimore Ravens and the New York Yankees.
He is survived by two sons: Richard Dale Thomas and his wife Ruth of Preston and Kenny Thomas and his wife Rita of Federalsburg; four grandchildren: Kimmy, Mandy, Cody and Rachel; a host of great-grandchildren; a sister Betty Mackert of Easton and a brother Robert Thomas and his wife Peggy of Trappe.
In addition to his parents and his wives, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Andrews and a sister Doris Fluharty.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Junior Order Cemetery in Preston with Pastor Marie Coulbourne officiating.
