Donald L. Willey's Obituary
Donald L. Willey of Choptank, MD passed away on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007 at the Memorial Hospital at Easton, MD. He was 72 years old.
He was born Dec. 20, 1934 in Choptank, the son of the late Leonard Clinton Willey and Frances Elizabeth Hicks Willey.
He served his country in the United States Navy for three years. He was employed by the former Preston Trucking as a mechanic for over 25 years. He was a former Cub Scout Leader Pack 461, a coach of the Preston Cubs Little League, was a member and served as past president of the Preston Volunteer Fire Company, and was a member of the Junior Order of United American Mechanics Preston Council #43. He enjoyed woodworking.
He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Audrey L. Reed Willey, whom he married on Dec. 22, 1956, a daughter, Melinda Wright and her husband, Mark, of Choptank, a son Danny Willey and his wife, Candy, of Smithville, 4 grandsons, Corey Willey, Chad Wright, Colby Willey, and Zachary Wright, a sister, Betty M. Chance of Federalsburg, a niece and several nephews. A nephew, Marvin L. Chance preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home, in Federalsburg, with Rev. Denzil Cheek officiating. Interment will follow in Choptank’s Belmont Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
