Doris Mae Toomey Alexander's Obituary
Doris Mae Toomey Alexander of Denton, Maryland passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Brinton Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Denton, Maryland. She was 88.
She was born on April 28, 1929 in Easton, Maryland the daughter of the late Carlton Baynard and Amanda McCracken Baynard.
She was married to Wilmer Toomey and they made their home in Federalsburg. He preceded her in death in 1979. She later married R. Norris Alexander who preceded her in death in 1996.
Working for the US Government, she visited area chicken processing facilities as an inspector. She enjoyed dancing, visiting with her friends, and was an avid bowler.
She was a lifetime member of the Federalsburg VFW Post #5246 Auxiliary.
She is survived by four children, Susan Feyl of Bridgeville, DE, E. Jeannie Murphy and her husband Donald of Federalsburg, Cindy Travers and her husband Tom of Federalsburg and Gregory Toomey of Ohio, eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, four siblings: Jeanette Howell of Preston, Carlis Fisher of Federalsburg, Mary Jane Hudson of Wilmington, DE, and Shirley Wain of Federalsburg. She was preceded in death by a daughter Cathy Toomey and a son, Gary Toomey.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 12:00p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with the Reverend Denzil T. Cheek officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 12:00.
