Doris Marie Worm's Obituary
Doris Marie Worm of Preston passed away at her home on Monday, January 22, 2024, with family and her beloved dog, Sammie at her side. She was 86.
Doris was born July 31, 1937, the daughter of Carl Joseph Worm and Mary Marine Worm.
She attended Preston School and following graduation went to Business School in Baltimore, MD. She worked as a legal secretary for Senator John-Clarence North for over 30 years.
Doris loved taking car trips with her sisters and sister-in-laws, where they shared many adventures. She was an avid reader and could usually be found beside a stack of books. After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family and pets and working in her flowers.
She was affectionately known as "Aunt Dart" to her many nieces and nephews. Her homemade banana cakes were a family favorite and have never been duplicated.
She was preceded in death by all of her siblings: William F. Worm (Vera), Carlton L. "Tuggie" Worm (Louise), Marjorie M. Jester, Earle B. Worm (Patty), Lloyd O. Worm, James T. Worm Sr., and Betty Ewing ( John).
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, January 26th at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg. Friends and family may call from 2 -3 p.m. Burial will be at the Junior Order Cemetery in Preston.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Compass Regional Hospice 160 Coursevall Dr. Centreville MD 21617 or the Caroline County Humane Society.
