Doris Ann Zebley's Obituary
Doris Ann Zebley, age 76, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2026, with her family by her side.
Born on September 27, 1949, Doris was the youngest daughter of John and Dorothy Dietrich Tjaden.
She spent her formative years in Bridgeville, Delaware, and graduated from Colonel Richardson High School in 1968. After graduating, Doris moved to Silver Spring, Maryland, where she worked for Goddard Industries. She later returned to the Eastern Shore, working at Bayshore Foods in Easton, Maryland, where she met the love of her life. Doris married Ralph Zebley on November 3, 1979, and became an instant mother. She loved and helped raise their son, Zeb, and embraced Ralph's five siblings as her own. Without hesitation, she became a devoted full-time mother and homemaker.
As their children grew, Doris and Ralph developed a love of travel. They visited all 50 states, including Alaska and Hawaii, and their journeys took them overseas to Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, Ireland, and Germany, among others. Whether by plane or boat, they took great joy in warm waters and sand between their toes. Along the way, they met many strangers who became fast friends. Doris and Ralph also nurtured a passion for Coca-Cola memorabilia, eagerly sharing, swapping, and selling their collection at annual conventions.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dorothy Tjaden, and by many beloved family members and friends. She is survived by her husband, Ralph; their son, Zeb, and his wife, Angie; their three grandchildren-Amber Woodland and her husband, Justin; Lexie Zebley; and Spencer Zebley-and one great-granddaughter, Layla Woodland. She also leaves behind her sister, Margaret Hubbard, and many other family and friends who will cherish her memory.
The family wishes to thank the Accent Hospice team for their exceptional care and compassion, as well as the many friends and family who supported and visited her in her final days.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 14, 2026 from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg. Funeral services will be on Friday, May 15, 2026 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Easton at 11:00 a.m. The Reverend Mark Tooley will officiate. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 7215 Ocean Gateway, Easton, Maryland 21601.
