Dorothy G. (Fisher) Tyler's Obituary
Dorothy G. Tyler Tilghman, Dorothy G. Tyler of Tilghman, died at her home on Friday, October 23, 2015. She was 80. Born in Talbot County, MD; on May 24, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Ernest E. and Margaret Pardoe Fisher. She attended Talbot Co. public schools. On March 22, 1958 she married Leslie E. Tyler, Sr. they made their home and began a family on Tilghman. Mr. Tyler died in 1967. Mrs. Tyler worked at various seafood processors in the Bay Hundred area until taking a position with Black & Decker of Easton. She worked there until her retirement in 1998. Mrs. Tyler was an active, devoted, and Life member for 60 years, of the Tilghman Vol. Fire Company Station 70, where she served in many capacities which included; ambulance Lt. and Captain. She served as Secretary, Vice Pres. and Pres. of the Ladies Aux for Station 70, during that time she served dinner to former President Ronald Regan while he was visiting on Tilghman. Mrs. Tyler, was one of the first women E.M.T.s 1974-75 to serve in Talbot Co. She was elected to the Talbot Co. Firefighters’ Hall of fame on December 10, 2008. In addition she was a member of the Tilghman United Methodist Church. Mrs. Tyler is survived by her children; Les Tyler (Sally) of Greensboro, MD; Kathleen Haga (Vance, Jr.), and Dewayne Stewart (Dawn) all of Tilghman. One sister Betty Erskine of Easton, six grandchildren; Holley Guschke (Sean) of St. Michaels, Mary Anne Bozman (Cheyenne) of Greensboro, Leslie Tyler (Heber) of Greensboro, Michael Ozman (Kim) of McDaniel, Cassidy Stewart and Savannah both of Tilghman. Five Great grandchildren; Victoria Bozman, Aedan Guschke, Tucker Ozman, Camden Johnson, and Coleson Ozman. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter; Roxanne Anderson, two brothers; Ernest Fisher and William Fisher, three sisters; Louise Tall, Jane Willis, and Jeanie Pepper. A viewing will be held at the Ostrowski Funeral Home P.A. on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00PM. Funeral Services will be held at the Tilghman United Methodist Church, Wednesday, October, 28th at 12:00 noon where friends may call one hour before the service. Memorial donations may be made to the Tilghman Vol. Fire Dept. 5996 Tilghman Island Rd. Tilghman, Md 21671 or to the Tilghman U.M.C.
