Dorothy L. Nalley's Obituary
Dorothy L. Nalley, of Federalsburg, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at PRMC in Salisbury. She was 92.
She was born on November 1, 1923, a daughter of the late Frank B. Calvin and Blanche Gillette.She married the late John Rawlins Nalley, who preceded her in death on December 14, 2000.
Dorothy was formerly employed as a teller and account manager with the former Maryland National Bank. She and John purchased a farm outside of Ridgley, where she also spent most of her time working. Later they relocated to a farm in Federalsburg and then into town, where she spent the last several years of her life. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and playing the organ. She served as PTA President for her children's schools for a number of years and was a member of the homemakers club. She will most of all be remember for her faithful service to her church, the First Church of Christ Science in Easton, where she served as first and second reader, library attendant, and treasurer for a number of years.
She is survived by three children, Rev. John Nalley and his wife Michelle of Martinsburg, WV, Frank Michael Nalley and his wife Judy of Greenwood, DE, a daughter Dorothy Charlene Cabrera and her husband Junior of Federalsburg; seven grandchildren David Nalley, Cathy DePasquale and her husband Brian, Viginia "Ginny" Nalley, Zachary Nalley, Shania Nalley, Nick Cabrera and his girlfriend Cerah Edsall, and Kristen Cabrera; three great grandchildren Isabella, Ava and Brian DePasquale.
Besides her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a brother Frank K. Calvin and a sister Blanche B. Catlett.
Services will be held on Friday, September 30, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the First Church of Christ Science in Easton. Parking is available in the Idlewild Park parking lot across from church. Interment will follow at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday Evening at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg.
