Dorothy Arlene Sammons' Obituary
Dorothy Arlene Baughman Sammons of Seaford, Delaware passed away peacefully Saturday, May 27, 2023 at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was 72.
She was born on October 12, 1950 in Lancaster, PA, the daughter of the late Richard O. Baughman and Grace Weit Stone.
She was married to John R. Sammons, Sr. He preceded her in death on January 24, 2013.
In addition to raising her children and family, she worked at Dollar General and Solo Cup while assisting her husband at the family poultry farm. Her family were always her priority; she enjoyed cooking, watching cooking shows, spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter: Sandra Sammons and her fiancée Rickey Corkran, Jr. of Seaford, a step-son, Jerry W. Sammons of Federalsburg; a step-daughter in law: Tara Sammons of Seaford; eight grandchildren: Ava Pusey, Madison Tharp-Corkran, Khloyee Brown, Shelby Green, Sierra Sammons, Summer Sammons, Roland Wheatley and Kyle Wheatley; a brother Richard Baughman and his wife Kim of Blades, DE, and a sister Carol Moyer and her husband Kevin of PA.
In addition to many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a step-son John R. Sammons, Jr. and a brother James Baughman.
A celebration of life for Dorothy will be held Saturday, July 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church Hall in Federalsburg, MD.
