Dorothy Louise Smith's Obituary
Dorothy Louise Smith of Denton, MD passed away on Sat. Dec. 28, 2013 at the UMSMC @ Easton, MD. She was 81.
She was born Nov. 13, 1932 in Church Hill, MD, the daughter of the late Wilmer and Mae Kemp.
She was a homemaker and had worked as a secretary for the former Kentern Dairy in Centreville. She also worked as a seamstress at the Seaford Sewing Factory. For the last fifteen years she repaired and assorted clothes for the needy which were then delivered by her husband, Calvin.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Calvin M. Smith, Sr., whom she married on Nov. 3, 1952, two sons, C. Mearl Smith, Jr. and his wife Debbie of Federalsburg, and Michael Lee Smith and his wife Debbie of Bridgeville, DE, 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, a brother Willard Kemp of Crompton, MD and numerous nieces and nephews as she was preceded by 10 siblings. Besides her parents and siblings she was preceded in death by 3 sons, Joey Smith, David Smith, and Glenn Smith.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home with Rev. Denzil Cheek officiating. Interment will follow in Stevensville Cemetery in Kent Island. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
