Dorothy Snead's Obituary
Dorothy Mae Snead of Laurel, DE passed away on Monday, Dec. 14, 2009 at her home in Laurel, DE. She was 75 years old.
She was born March 17, 1934 in Pungoteague, VA, the daughter of the late Edward Gaskin and Annie Snead.
She had retired from Perdue in Georgetown, DE. She was a member of Mt. Pisgah AME Church in Laurel. She enjoyed doing puzzles and going to flea markets. She loved her family dearly.
She is survived by four children, James R. Snead, Sr. of Laurel, Doris Ann Ames and her husband Leroy and William Lee Snead and his wife Mary all of Trenton, NJ, and Charles R. Snead of Wilmington, DE; 15 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Bessie West of Dagsboro, DE and Mildred Mills of Melfa, VA and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son James C. Snead and a dear friend, James Clark, Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Dec. 21, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Pisgah AME Church, in Laurel with Pastor Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Laurel. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m.
