Dorothy Wharton Wright's Obituary
Dorothy Wharton Wright, 79, of Preston, MD passed away on Saturday May 20, 2017. She was born on October 17, 1937 to the late Harvey and Edna Wharton. She graduated from Preston High School in 1955. Following High School she worked in accounting and raising her family. She started working for USPS in Preston in 1967, becoming Postmaster in 1982 and retiring in 1997.
Dotty married Harry Bushey Wright, III, her husband of 60 years on October 13, 1956. After retirement they both enjoyed life together and traveled the world.
Dotty was a member of the United Methodist Church, Community Club, and Red Hatters, and also a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Dotty was devoted to her children, grandchildren and family.
Dotty is survived by her husband, H. Bushey Wright, III, her sister Peggy Wright and her husband Bob of Preston, her children Michael Wright and wife Eva of Preston, Patti Wheatley and husband Kevin of Federalsburg, two grandchildren, Erin Williamson and her husband Jordan, and Amy Wheatley and Kyle, a great-grandson Trenton Williamson and two nephews, Mark and Greg Wright.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday May 25 at 12:00pm at Framptom Funeral Home with a calling hour between 11:00am and 12:00pm. Interment will follow at Junior Order Cemetery in Preston.
