Dorothy Jean Jackson's Obituary
Dorothy Jean Jackson of Federalsburg died at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, Md., on May 5, 2011. She was 60. She was born Dorothy Jean Haynes in Federalsburg, Md. on April 15, 1951, the daughter of Harding R. Prattis and Ella Louise Haynes.
She was a graduate of Colonel Richardson High School, Federalsburg, Md. On July 19, 1969 she was married to Reginald Laaron Jackson in Federalsburg by Rev. William E. Briggs. She was a member of both Zion United Methodist Church in Federalsburg and Solomon’s AUMP Church in Williamsburg. Evangelist Jackson loved gardening and would often share her beautiful flowers with her family, friends and the churches. She was a most loving and caring person.
She is survived by a daughter, Angela A. Jackson of Denton; two sons, Reginald L .Jackson Jr. of Federalsburg and Kevin M. Jackson (Betsy) of Delmar, Md.; three grandchildren, Courtney A. Jackson, Reginald L. Jackson III, and Ashley E. Jones; two brothers, Larry Haynes Sr. (Darlene) and Ricky Haynes; five sisters, Patricia Lawson (Juan), Elaine Hubbard (David), Sandra Haynes, Karen Hopkins and Joyce Sampson; sister in the Lord, Brenda Briggs; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Evangelist Jackson was preceded in death by her husband, Reginald L. Jackson Sr., March 24, 2011. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin and Alonzo Prattis.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Union United Methodist Church, 301 N. Main St., Federalsburg, with Bishop Delbert L Jackson officiating. A viewing will be held two hours prior. Internment will follow at Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery near Hurlock
