Dorothy P. Donovan's Obituary
Dorothy Payne Donovan of Federalsburg, MD passed away at Mallard Bay Nursing Home in Cambridge on Thursday July 12, 2007. She was 81.
She was born in Hurlock, MD on August 27, 1925, the daughter of the late Emory Payne and Helen Phillips Payne. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore E. Donovan on March 29, 2004.
She was a graduate of Hurlock High School Class of 1943. She had previously worked for E.I DuPont as a lab technician and also for Maryland Plastics Co. in Federalsburg.
She was a member of Federalsburg Senior Center and a lifetime member of the Federalsburg V.F.W. Post 5246 Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Joanne Messick of Seaford, Shirley D. Bennett and Maxine Diamond, both of Federalsburg, three grandsons, Carl Messick and his wife, Kim, Justin D. Diamond, Jordan S. Diamond, a great-granddaughter, Aurora Messick, four sisters, Virginia Thomas of Baltimore, Rachel Lord, Martha Harris both of Seaford, Edith Schoffstall of Melbourne, FL, a brother, Howard Payne of Milford, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Phillip Payne.
Funeral services for her will be held on Sunday, July 15, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Framptom Funeral Home, P.A. in Federalsburg with Rev. Kevin English officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1-2 on Sunday. Interment will follow at Bloomery Cemetery near Federalsburg.
