Dudley Victor Lloyd's Obituary
It is with heartfelt sorrow that the family of Dudley Victor Lloyd of Seaford, Delaware announces his peaceful passing on June 29, 2025 at Genesis - Lofland Park Center in Seaford, Delaware, at the remarkable age of 100. He was born on March 3, 1925 in Clarendon-Moca, Jamaica. He came to America at the age of 19 and worked as a migrant worker for many years. While laboring as a migrant worker he gained his US Citizenship. He was a loyal and dedicated worker at the Seaford Golf and Country Club for over 50 years. While occupying many positions at the Country Club, he also mentored young men about the importance of having a strong work ethic. Dudley was active in the Seaford Credit Union and also served as president of the Credit Union for a few years. He also served on the Board of Directors until the credit union was acquired by another entity. In his free time, Dudley enjoyed listening to gospel music and reading the word of God. He was a great bowler and played on the bowling team. He also enjoyed watching cooking shows and spending time with his family.
Dudley was a devoted member of Bethel Methodist Church for 70 years. He served in various church offices and was a member of the traveling Male Gospel Choir.
Over the years, he became a beloved figure in his community, a gentle patriarch, a cherished friend, and a steady presence whose wisdom and warmth touched countless lives. Known for his quiet strength, generosity, and unwavering kindness, Dudley always made time for family, neighbors, and young ones seeking his guidance.
He is survived by his sister, Monica Allison-Dothard of Millstone Township, NJ, his brother, Colton Allison of Kingston, Jamaica, his son, Engram A. Lloyd of Phoenixville, Pa., his daughter, Brenda I. Lloyd of Queens Village, NY. His grandchildren include Anthony Lloyd, Randall Quailes Jr., Timothy Quailes, Tonya Quailes-Moore, Lisa Jones Bolden, Stacey Jones, Tamika Jones, Kendra Roberson, Marcus Roberts and Maya Lloyd. Additionally, a host of nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Alice Marie Lloyd, his mother, Ionie Maude Lloyd, sister Everlan Allison, two brothers, Kenneth and Byron Lloyd, and son, Randall Morris Quailes.
A viewing will be held Friday, July 11th, 2025 • 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. at Framptom Funeral Home, P.A., 216 N Main St, Federalsburg, MD 21632.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, July 12th, 2025 • 11:00 AM-12:30 PM Bethel United Methodist Church, 3426 Harper Rd, Federalsburg, MD 21632.
